Wisdom Through Action

Teaching The Fourth Way  in the Tradition of G. I. Gurdjieff &
P. D. Ouspensky

Next Steps on How to Proceed....

Jacob's Ladder
Climbing the Path of Self-Consciousness

The meaning of life can be attempted in various ways. Some seek it through physical mastery, others by religious observance, while others seek it through meditation.  Each of these ways is concerned with the development of a particular center, involving persistent effort, usually to the exclusion of life interests. The Fourth Way, as taught by Gurdjieff and Ouspensky is designed to stimulate a balanced use of all parts of ourselves. This requires a conscious participation in the events of the day rather than an attempt to escape from them.

Study of the Fourth Way can lead to an entirely new meaning of life. The ideas of the Fourth Way are clear and precise; to practice them is a different matter. It is a task for which one needs help because our ordinary way of thinking is quite inadequate. Searching for the meaning of life using the Fourth Way can be seen as venturing into unknown territory beyond the boundaries of our habitual way of thinking and interacting with the world around us.

The important thing to do is to start.  You can spend your time engaged in countless distractions designed to keep you asleep or you can begin to find the meaning of life.  Wisdom Through Action teaches the Fourth Way, endeavoring to use practical application of methods to awaken from this state of sleep, that is ways to learn to self-remember in order to bring higher consciousness into all sides of a person's life.

It is quite exciting that with the help of the electronic world in which we find ourselves living, Wisdom Through Action is able to extend beyond physical boundaries, teaching those willing to learn, how to apply the ideas of the Fourth Way and put them into practice.
